Artist's Description
According to ancient Javanese legend Princess Dewi Kilisuci (Day-wee Kee-lee-soo-chee), was seen bathing and praying in an enchanted waterfall seeking a cure for an illness that interfered with her ability to marry. The princess was cast out from her village and instructed to bathe and pray in the healing waters of 3 sacred falls. The villagers at this particular waterfall were overcome by her beauty and her golden yellow skin. They named the healing falls Roro Kuning, meaning yellow virgin. Villager today continue to visit the waterfall and gaze upon her beauty in Nganjuk, East Java.
