Artist's Description
Candi Sewu is a Buddhist temple in Indonesia on the Island of Java. My friend Emani and I had a real Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom experience at this Candi. We worked our way to the very center rooms and found one so deep and dark that my flashlight wouldn't reach the ceiling nor the wall. There were dripping sounds as water spattered on the stone floor from above. It made it sound like little creatures were moving around within. So of course we had to explore. Inside, we discovered that there was a big stage-type structure with stairs on either side leading up. It smelled like a bag full of mushrooms and wet gravel. Emani held my shoulders as we tip toed our way in deeper. Suddenly near my right shoulder I saw the slimiest looking 2 inch cock roach with fluorescent green legs. We screamed and kept going.
